Greenburgh Hebrew Center offers religious services 365 days per year. We join in prayer as a community, with singing and active discussion. A hallmark of GHC is our congregants' participation in all aspects of religious services. Dozens of congregants each year read from the Torah, chant Haftarah and lead portions of our Shabbat, Festival and Daily services. Most of our adult participants learned their skills at GHC as adults -- "beginners" are always welcome and soon become "regulars." We follow the liturgy of the Conservative Movement, and our services are fully egalitarian.
The Religious Affairs Committee is open to all, giving every member of the congregation an opportunity to shape the spiritual environment of the congregation. Dealing with the most sacred aspects of our community, the Religious Affairs committee is charged with insuring every person feels comfortable within our building and in our practices. The Religious Affairs committee is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our prayer services, including making sure there are services for those who are in mourning, care of our ritual objects and setting synagogue observance policies that continue to evolve with the times. If you have an inclination towards these aspect of our community's life, we invite you to join us. Check the G-H-C calendar for our next meeting date and time.
