Greenburgh Hebrew Center welcomes all Adults and Children to Pool Party Open House Sunday, August 10th

The Greenburgh Hebrew Center will host a Pool Party Open House at a private house in Dobbs Ferry on Sunday, August 10 from 1 pm – 4 pm.  Attendees will be able to meet and get acquainted with Rabbi Barry Kenter, Cantor Janet Leuchter, Religious School Director Debbie Erdheim, Early Childhood Director Gloria Smith and other representatives of the synagogue.

Greenburgh Hebrew Center makes new commitment to Jewish Education with a Year of Religious School for Free

To encourage Jewish education, the Greenburgh Hebrew Center (GHC) is now offering newcomers to its award-winning Religious School one year of free tuition.  Those enrolling for the 2014-15 year will also enjoy the 2015-16 year tuition at half the standard rate.

Sisterhood Shabbat Service, honoring Arlene Krawitz to be held on Saturday May 17

Sisterhood GHC will be having its annual Sisterhood Shabbat, honoring Arlene Krawitz as Woman of the Year, at 9:30 am on Saturday May 17 at Greenburgh Hebrew Center in Dobbs Ferry, NY. GHC is an egalitarian synagogue where women are routinely included in all aspects of Jewish observance, but, Sisterhood Shabbat is a special celebration of how far Jewish women have come. All the parts of the service, including leading the service and reading Torah, are performed by women.

Greenburgh Hebrew Center To Host Shabbat Hagadol Dinner

Now that Purim is over, the Greenburgh Hebrew Center is  preparing for the Passover. This year the annual Shabbat Hagadol dinner takes place Friday, April 11. The Musical Shabbat evening service begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Shabbat meal. (There will be food for vegetarians and children too.)
