Open House for Gan (Kindergarten) Class on Sunday, April 26 at 11 AM at Greenburgh Hebrew Center

Dr. Jay Michaelson to speak at Greenburgh Hebrew Center on April 20th, 7:30 pm

Greenburgh Hebrew Center welcomes noted author, activist and academic, Dr. Jay Michaelson, to speak at the synagogue, located at 515 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, on Monday, April 20th at 7:30 pm.  Dr. Michaelson will explore distinctive LGBTQ voices and perspectives within Jewish sacred texts and theology.  The lecture will be followed by a question and answer session, and refreshments will be served.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend this free event.  As Rabbi Barry A. Kenter said, “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Michaelson, whose insights are sure to enrich us all and to inspire further LGBTQ outreach. How grateful and proud we are to provide this opportunity to our neighbors and friends.”  Due to space limitations, reservations are recommended.

Purim Megillah Reading and “Purim Wars” at Greenburgh Hebrew Center Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 6:45 pm

The holiday of Purim begins with the Megillah reading (the story of Purim) on Wednesday, March 4, at 6:45 pm. The theme for this year’s Shpiel is “Purim Wars”. All Purim attendees – children and adults - are encouraged to dress up like a character from Star Wars! Congregants have created an enjoyable and comical Purim shpiel which will be presented during the evening. The Shpiel will be fun, festive and filling (because Hamentaschen will be served, of course)!

Feed the Hungry - Interfaith Community Drive

Help us feed the hungry! Westchester Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant congregations and organizations are collecting food for UJA-Federation of New York's 10th Annual Food Drive. The food will be distributed to food pantries and soup kitchens in Westchester and the Bronx.
