The Rabbinical Assembly, as a member of the Conference of Presidents, is participating in a Shabbat of Unity with the People of Israel, this Shabbat, October 17, 2015. We ask that you recite this kavannah by our colleague David Wolpe and pray with your congregations for the safety and security of Israel and everyone who lives there, and the healing of the injured victims.

Ruach Tot Shabbat to take place Friday, July 10 - for Parents and Children

Ruach Tot Shabbat is parent and child friendly, and designed for children ages 3-7. Rabbi Jay M. Stein Named New Rabbi of The Greenburgh Hebrew Center

The Greenburgh Hebrew Center has announced the appointment of Rabbi Jay M. Stein as its new spiritual leader, as of July 1, 2015. Rabbi Barry Kenter, who has served as the synagogue’s spiritual leader since 1984, has been appointed Rabbi Emeritus.

All Woman Led Sisterhood Shabbat Service, honoring Johnna Freud as Woman of the Year, to be held on Saturday May 16

Sisterhood GHC will be having its annual Sisterhood Shabbat, honoring Johnna Freud as Woman of the Year, at 9:30 am on Saturday May 16 at Greenburgh Hebrew Center in Dobbs Ferry, NY. GHC is an egalitarian synagogue where women are routinely included in all aspects of Jewish observance, but, Sisterhood Shabbat is a special celebration of how far Jewish women have come. All the parts of the service, including leading the service and reading Torah, are performed by women.
