Outgoing President Deborah Jagoda to be Honored at Greenburgh Hebrew Center Journal Dinner / DancePublished: Wednesday, May 1, 2013 By: Robin Rosenberg
Outgoing synagogue President Deborah Jagoda will be honored at this year’s Journal Dinner/Dance on Sunday, June 9 at the Greenburgh Hebrew Center. The event begins at 6 pm with hor d’oeuvres and cocktails, and concludes at 10 pm.
The annual Dinner Dance is always a festive and celebratory event at GHC. The event features a cocktail hour, delicious sit down dinner and dancing. This year’s honoree, Deborah Jagoda, who served as president of GHC for the past 2 years, is very deserving. Deborah oversaw the GHC congregation’s adoption of its first ever “Mission and Vision” statement, the awarding of several grants to the synagogue, plus the receipt of 4 gold Kehillah Recognition Awards from United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism’s Metropolitan New York Division. Deborah also spearheaded the synagogue’s participation in the “Sustainable Synagogues Business Model” program, under the sponsorship of UJA Federation of New York/Synergy, as well as other projects. In her professional life, Ms. Jagoda is a senior attorney in Winston & Strawn’s New York labor and employment relations department in Manhattan. Deborah and her husband Andrew, along with daughters Evelyn and Naomi, have been residents of Edgemont for 19 years.
Please call the synagogue office at 914-693-4260 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make a reservation for the dinner dance or to place an ad in the journal. The journal will be available for all to see on the GHC website as well as in print. For additional information, visit www.g-h-c.org.
The Greenburgh Hebrew Center is a fully egalitarian Conservative synagogue serving the Rivertowns and adjacent communities, and has daily services that are spirited and participatory. The membership is a friendly and welcoming community.
