(03/05/12) DOBBS FERRY - Some families in the Hudson Valley got an early start celebrating the Jewish holiday of Purim yesterday.

Hundreds gathered at the Greenburgh Hebrew Center in Dobbs Ferry for their annual Purim Program and Carnival. Kids got to enjoy a superslide, bouncy castle plus plenty of games and arts and crafts.

Organizers say the event is a great way for kids to learn about the holiday, which honors a Jewish victory over oppression in Persia in the 6th century BC.
