Greenburgh Hebrew Center to hold Annual Family Hanukkah Dinner Friday December 3, 2010; Early Dinner for Families with Young Children Available too; Installation of Cantor Janet Leuchter during Services
It is almost time for our Luscious Latkes and Mighty Macabees to make their appearance at the Greenburgh Hebrew Center! Hanukkah is just around the corner. Greenburgh Hebrew Center will hold its annual festive family Hanukkah dinner on Friday, December 3rd.
"Blue Jean" Shabbat services begin at 6:30 pm, led by Rabbi Kenter and Cantor Leuchter to be followed by a delicious family-style Shabbat dinner. There will be plenty of latkes, brisket, sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) and other delicious goodies. (Vegetarian and child-friendly food available too.) Rabbi Kenter is preparing for his annual Jewish Trivia contest for the children - with chocolate gelt for all participants!!
This year we will have an early program and dinner for families with young children before the congregational service. We will start at 5:15 pm with songs, candlelighting blessings and fun Hanukkah activities for young children, followed by dinner at 6 pm.
The installation of GHC's new cantor, Janet Leuchter, will take place during services. Please call the synagogue office at 693-4260 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make a reservation for either dinner. Adults and children of all ages are very welcome at either dinner.
