Arlene Krawitz

Arlene Krawitz has been chosen Woman of the Year for her extensive service to GHC and to Sisterhood. She has been an active member of Greenburgh Hebrew Center and its Sisterhood since moving to Westchester from Rockland County 21 years ago.  She has served Sisterhood as President, Treasurer, VP Education, Corresponding Secretary, Parliamentarian, Sisterhood Shabbat coordinator, and on various committees.  Arlene is also VP Senior and Cultural Affairs/ Adult Education for GHC.  She has worked with Rabbi Kenter and other center members to bring JTS@GHC and books@GHC to the synagogue.  Arlene been a member of the Westchester-Rockland Branch and the MetroNorth Region of Women's League and served as Treasurer for many years.  She also represents MetroNorth on the Women's League International Board. Arlene has an Early Childhood degree from CCNY and  taught at the Pomona Jewish Center and the Solomon Schechter School of Rockland before returning to the NYC Board of Education. Arlene and her husband, Jesse, have two married sons, Larry and Seth and four grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob, Anabelle and Adam.
