The preserve’s 1,400 acres is part of the Rockefeller family estate in Pocantico Hills. There are  trail maps that include descriptions of the carriage roads’ distances and grades which are available at the Preserve Office.

The preserve is terrific for beginners : sneakers or walking shoes are fine. There is a  Gallery (across from the Visitor Center),whose rotating exhibits feature works from local artists
