About GHC

The membership of the Greenburgh Hebrew Center is truly varied. We are families, with and without children, young couples, singles, single parents, interfaith families, and senior citizens. We live near and far: Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Hastings, Hartsdale, Yonkers, Scarsdale, Tarrytown, White Plains, Briarcliff and even beyond!

We are a spirited, warm, friendly, supportive, and social community and we enjoy being Jewish! Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and traditions. Our religious services are highly participatory. We celebrate our life cycle events with joy and comfort each other in times of need.

Joining the GHC

While you don't have to join the synagogue to take advantage of its many offerings, membership certainly has its advantages.

Members are automatically entitled to certain benefits such as: High Holiday tickets, mailing list and Hamvaser (newsletter) participation, discounted tuition rates in the Nursery School and Religious Schools, participation and voting at Center meetings, and more. Being part of a synagogue provides easier access to all of our religious services and educational and social activities. Being a member will make you feel much more connected and closer to a supportive community. We welcome anyone who would like to join or just learn more about GHC and Judaism. We are happy to meet with you, give a tour or just talk!

If your oldest child is in our Gan, Aleph, or Bet (Grades K, 1 or 2) program in the Religious School, or in our Nursery School, you may be entitled to a free courtesy membership. You may also be interested in the Gateway Membership plan, an innovative way to join both GHC and the JCC on the Hudson in Tarrytown. View more information on the Gateway plan.
