Yes, you heard it right……..!  I’m so pleased to announce that this summer during the pre-Shabbat daylight hours, our always joyful Kabbalat Shabbat service will be enhanced by the melodious and relaxing sounds of the guitar.   And, to crank it up a notch, for our summer Friday Night Live services on June 6th and July 4th we will also be adding percussion in sync with the guitar.   Please mark your calendar according to the schedule below, and join us as often as you can!  (Plan to arrive on time, so you won’t miss a beat!)

Fridays this summer at GHC: 
May 23rd and May 30th at 6:30pm w/guitar
June 6th – Friday Night Live – 7:30pm w/guitar & percussion
June 13th, 20th, and 27th, 7:30pm w/guitar
July 4th – 6pm BBQ and 7:30pm Friday Night Live w/guitar & percussion  (Services are open to all, but if you plan to join us for the BBQ at 6pm, please RSVP to the GHC office.)
July 11th – 6:30pm – w/guitar
(Specifics for the rest of July and August will be posted later in the summer, but services will be at 6:30pm.)

And……though the school year is winding down, GHC is still bursting with activity!  Our end of school BBQ is June 1st in the morning, and our Journal Dinner Dance that evening.  June 9th and 10th , we will celebrate Shavuot with congregational family services at 9am, as well as a Tikun Leil Shavuot (a learning opportunity for all ages), the evening of June 8th.  June 14th is Sisterhood Shabbat, at which time our women will be covering the entire Torah reading as well as other portions of the service.   The following Shabbat, June 21st, is Simcha Shabbat.   Please let us know what Simchas you would like to acknowledge, and come to help others celebrate joyfully as well.   And, as if this were not enough, we still have three B’nei Mitzvah coming up:  Jesse Sloane next week on May 30/31, Tyler Chafitz on June 6/7, and to end our summer and bring us into fall, Sam Siegel on August 29/30.
