Free “You & Me” Classes begin at Greenburgh Hebrew Center – for Toddlers & Parents/Caregivers

The Greenburgh Hebrew Center (GHC) Early Childhood Center is proud to offer a series of fun Mommy & Me classes, called “You & Me”, for parents/caregivers and their toddler children.  The classes include playtime, group time, songs, stories, snack and an art activity. This class is specifically geared for children between the ages of one and two, who will be two by August 2015.

Greenburgh Hebrew Center Celebrates Simchat Torah October 16 & 17

Simchat Torah celebrates the completion of the cycle of reading the Torah and the beginning of a new cycle.  GHC begins the celebration of Simchat Torah on Thursday evening, October 16, at 5:45 pm with music, storytelling and exploration of the Torah. This event is especially geared towards families with young children. The celebration continues with a light pasta dinner at 6:30 pm. The dinner is free and open to all; please RSVP to the GHC office at 693-4260 or by Monday, October 13. Everyone is then invited to join the congregation in the main sanctuary at 7:00 pm for singing, dancing and rejoicing with all of the GHC Torahs. Rabbi Barry Kenter will unroll an entire Torah scroll and “wrap” all of the children in the Torah. 

Greenburgh Hebrew Center offers High Holidays programs & services for all ages!

Greenburgh Hebrew Center (GHC) is kicking off the High Holidays on Saturday, September 20 at 9:00 PM with Part I of Simon Schama’s highly acclaimed PBS series “The Story of the Jews”. Discussion and then the Selichot prayers of forgiveness will follow. This is open to the community. GHC holds evening and daytime services on both days of Rosh Hashanah.  Evening services on Wednesday, September 24 and Thursday, September 25 will begin at 6:00 PM, and daytime services on Thursday, September 25 and Friday, September 26 will begin at 8:30 AM.
